Jossel Beruf - profession: Bierbrauer Wohnort - place of residence: Rüthen ✱ 1901-08-05 in Rüthen ✝ 1975 Josef Wilhelm August "Willy" Helle, called Jossel, was the son of Wilhelm Helle, called Jossel (1863 - 1932), and grandson of Joseph Adam and Maria Wiegenstein Helle. "Willy" continued the family tradition of becoming a brewmaster and inherited the family business at Hachtorstrasse 23 in Ruethen. He had no children and adopted Wolfgang Helle, oldest son of Fritz and Leni (Fromm) Helle, in order to keep the business in the family. Willy Helle was instrumental in organizing Volksbank Ruthen. OnThursday, 3 Sept 1953, the organizational meeting was held on the hall of Brewery Helle. Twenty five businessmen resolved to organize and establish a bank. Willy served honorably as a member of the Board of Directors from1953 until his death in 1975. By 1978, Volksbank Ruthen served 13 nearby villages and towns. |
